A Purely Voluntary Project

To clarify a common misconception about this web site; it has been built and continues to be run on a 100% voluntary basis. We do not charge anyone for anything on this web site, for example:

  • Business listings
  • Organisations' listings
  • Event listings

We specifically want this web site to be a FREE resource for all businesses and organisations to promote their products and services so that the community can benefit from a fully comprehensive source of useful, local information.

We have not received any funding or payment for this at any stage, from anyone, and have been funding the project completely from our own pocket.

Keeping things moving forward

The old site had been looking fairly tired for the last year or so, so we had been waiting to launch Malmesbury.com v2 only when we were satisfied that we had a web site that would serve its purpose for at least the next 3 to 4 years.

Additionally, we feel that we could improve things further by taking on a dedicated Malmesbury.com administrator (part time) to keep things up-to-date. So, fairly soon we will be looking for sponsors to help with the funding of this role.

Who Started Malmesbury.com?

We are Justin and Ruth Jeffrey of Mindvision Media and we are located in the ex-Royal Mail sorting office in Malmesbury High Street... oh, and we now live up on the top floor, upstairs from the office, which has just the most beautiful views!

Justin has been developing commercial web sites for many years, since the early days of the world wide web. He has also worked extensively in the telecoms sector, supplying marketing consultancy and creative services.

Ruth had farmed beef cattle in Charlton for 15 years before a complete career change to set up and run a corporate gift distributorship in Swindon. After marrying Justin in 2005, decided to join Mindvision as a co-director, bringing corporate gifts into the Mindvision offering.

What Started Malmesbury.com?

A love of Malmesbury and more...

"I (Justin) developed this project having been resident here in Malmesbury for over 20 years at the time back in 2010 and my wife, Ruth was born and bred here but we didn't feel there was an easy way to keep up with what's going on in the town. In fact, we would almost have described ourselves as having been blissfully unaware, which only became more apparent as the Malmesbury.com project unfurled.

There is so much going on, so much available and of course so much changing and that's exactly what Malmesbury.com is all about – providing the community with the opportunity to both publicise and access all the information there is to know about what's going on and when, making it easily accessible, online 24hrs a day from one 'easy to use', reference point.

What Do We Get Out Of It?

Commercially... a little bit of local exposure for Mindvision.

Our company, Mindvision Media has been in Malmesbury since 2007 and we moved into the High Street in early 2013, having previously been based on the outskirts, at Malmesbury Business Park.

As our business listing in the Malmesbury.com directory shows, we provide graphic design, web site development, print and branded corporate gifts. We work with businesses of all shapes and sizes, literally from the self employed 'one man band', right through to large organisations.

Being based in the High Street is a great opportunity for us to increase our visibility and put ourselves in front of the owners of the hundreds of local businesses that we also promote right here in the Malmesbury.com business directory.

We already work with quite a few of you but if you're not one of them, do feel free to pop in any time to find out what we could be doing to help promote and present your business.

And finally...

Welcome to Malmesbury.com - we hope you find the site a useful source of local information. If there is anything else that you would like to see included on the site please don't hesitate to get in touch.
